Bourbon Single Barrel Barrel Proof
126.1 Proof
Straight Bourbon
Distillery 291
80% corn, 19% malt rye, 1% malt barley
Nose
Nice caramel spicy nose with a lot of rye spice boldness despite the malted rye being softer than non-malted counterparts.
Palate
Initial sweet impression that quickly gives way to a firm handshake of spice on the back; rye is in charge despite the majority corn content, with distinct caramel and molasses sweetness characteristic of bourbon.
Finish
Nice viscous mouthfeel that sticks to the back of tongue and sides of palate; wonderful deep peppery rye spice with a nice long finish; tannic and dry in a good way without bitterness, would stand up well to cigars and cocktails.
Overall Score
4.2 / 5
A bold, western-style bourbon with impressive rye character that delivers a heavy mouthfeel and complex spice profile across the entire palate.
