Nose
Sweet with burnt caramels and deep caramel notes, rice spice with a little overripened fruit character, fermented fruit aromatics reminiscent of overripe peaches or plums.
Palate
Upfront sweetness that persists throughout, all spice and clove with cinnamon notes that are not overly spicy, dried apricots with a hint of bitterness, citrusy and minty notes with a slight prickly sensation on the tongue, subtle horehound candy or medicinal qualities, subtle sassafras character.
Finish
Medium to long finish with sweetness remaining, warming sensation with a slight Kentucky hug, reminiscent of ice wine or mulled wine, the all spice and sweetness lingers.
Really good
A well-crafted blend of bourbon and rye finished in black brandy cask that delivers unexpected complexity, nice balance of sweetness and spice, and makes an excellent entry point for whiskey newcomers.
