Brush Creek Straight Bourbon Whiskies
94 proof 4 to 12 years Bourbon Brush Creek Saratoga, WY $55 Four grain blend (corn, rye, wheat, barley)

Solid waft of caramel, hints of fruit, apparent oak. Waffle cone-like quality with candied pecan notes. Stone fruit character of ripe, overripe peach. Floral notes with a unique savory quality that's difficult to pinpoint. Freshness reminiscent of spearmint or wintergreen without actual mint flavor.

Baking spices with a savory note on the front. Fruit character including overripe peach. Anise appears on the back of the palate. A sizzling, tingling sensation that's not quite pop rocks. Slight drying effect that pinches the tongue a little. As the bottle opens up, toasted peach notes emerge—like a peach seared in butter with caramel. Spearmint-like freshness opens up the palate.

Medium length finish that's pleasant and drying. Old dried leather notes. Roasted quality without being overly nutty. Minimal sweetness. The finish has a nice hug to it. Sizzling sensation continues through the finish.

Above average
A well-blended, versatile whiskey that opens up beautifully over time, offering spice-forward character with peach and fruit notes—a solid sessionable porch whiskey at a fair price point.
