David Nicholson 1843 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey
100 proof 4-6 years Bourbon Lux Row Distillers Bardstown, KY $25 Wheated bourbon (undisclosed mash bill)

Almondy and nutty character with peanut brittle notes, floral sweetness, hints of dark fruit and oak, golden amber color on the lighter side with vanilla coming through.

Thin mouthfeel with an initial bite and spicy kick, peanut brittle on the front of the palate that rolls back with oak and spice, more dryness than sweetness, little pop rocks sensation on follow-up sips, delayed effect between front and back with a less impressive mid-palate.

Long finish with persistent notes of spice and oak, very oaky for the light color, Kentucky hug effect with continued spice notes.

Satisfying
A wheated bourbon that steps outside traditional wheater expectations with barrel-driven spice and oak character, offering good value at $25 for those seeking something different.
