Five Trail Blended American Whiskey Batch 01
95 proof
NAS (blend of 4-year and 13-year components)
Blended American Whiskey
Coors Whiskey Company
Approximately 60% corn, 20% malt, remainder wheat and rye (blend of four whiskeys: 45% 4-year Indiana wheated bourbon, 35% 4-year four-grain from Bardstown, 15% 4-year Colorado single malt, 5% 13-year Kentucky bourbon)
Nose
Sweet nose with honey and caramel; brown sugar malt character very apparent; no youth detected despite four-year age statement
Palate
Very well-balanced and seamless blend; malt is upfront with good baking spice; oak present but not overwhelming; vanilla-forward; light and not bold or overpowering; the four components meld together without hard breaks
Finish
Medium finish; rye becomes most apparent on the finish with a hint of ginger that cleans it up nicely; not super long but appropriate for the proof and style
Really good
A seamless, well-balanced blended American whiskey that successfully marries four distinct components into a smooth, approachable expression perfect for neat sipping or with ice.
