Nose
Sweet nose with prominent honey and caramel notes; malt is very apparent with brown sugar character; no detectable youth; vanilla present.
Palate
Well-balanced and seamless with no hard breaks between components. Upfront malt character with good baking spice, a touch of oak, and heavy vanilla. Light and not bold or overpowering, perfectly suited to the proof. Rye becomes most apparent on the finish with a hint of ginger that cleans things up nicely.
Finish
Medium-length finish with rye spice and a gingery note that provides a nice clean ending. When water is added, spice becomes more pronounced with a hint of bitterness that accentuates the rye presence.
