Laws Four Grain Straight Bourbon Whiskey (Bottled in Bond)
95 proof
4–10 years
Bourbon
Laws Whiskey House
Denver, CO
$55–$59
60% corn, 20% wheat, 10% rye, 10% malted barley
Nose
Grain-forward with a nice malty depth; predominantly cereal notes from the scarlet barley.
Palate
Sweetness upfront from the corn, followed by a penny metallic bite from the rye, then baking spice, a little bit of orange and fruit from the wheat, finishing with nutty character from the scarlet barley—all four grains present in every sip.
Finish
Medium to long with a nice nutty character on the back end; the rye holds even at 10% and lingers.
Recommended
A well-balanced four-grain bourbon with excellent grain integration, vertical depth from mixed ages, and a thoughtful approach to mash-bill construction.
