Johnny Fever Four Grain Straight Bourbon Whiskey
100 proof NAS Bourbon Burnt Church Distillery Bluffton, SC $99

Sweet and sticky aroma with four-grain character. Notes of sorghum molasses, caramel, and oak. A little ethanol-forward but not overpowering. Juicy fruit notes present.

An explosion of flavor. Sweet notes dominate the front and sides of the mouth with a popcorn-like pop. Toasted marshmallow character. The sweetness is more pronounced than expected for a four-grain at this proof. Viscous and oily mouthfeel for a 100 proofer. The corn sweetness is largely gone, suggesting appropriate aging.

Medium to medium-long finish with a slight hug but not deep-seated. Good finish overall.

Above average
A well-crafted bourbon with impressive depth and character that drinks appropriately for its age, supported by beautiful presentation and meaningful brand storytelling.
