What your favorite American Whiskey?
Jim helped out a friend that was broke down on the side of the road and was gifted a bottle of Old Scout 107 from Smooth Ambler Spirits for his good deed.
Smooth Ambler Spirits was founded in 2009, in West Virginia, with the goal of bringing fantastic whiskey to both novice and enthusiasts. They are open and excited about sharing their whiskey with folks, whether it’s whiskey they make, sourced, or a combination of the two.
We hope you enjoy Jim and Mike’s review of Old Scout 107, American Whiskey.
Tasting Notes: Smooth Ambler Old Scout 107, American Whiskey
Vital Stats: This is a store pick from John O’s Liquors. It’s a blend of 28% 12 year old bourbon and 72% 6 year old American whiskey. It is 107 proof with a MSRP of $45 and is non chill filtered.
Nose: Butterscotch and deep vanilla bean. Creamy with slight hints of fruit and cheerios.
Palate: Buttery with that cheerios cereal covered in cream. This is cow tail candy with nuts. It’s spice will kick you in the chest.
Finish: This has a long and lasting experience. The spice on this will give you a giant Kentucky bear hug.
Overall: At this price it’s a buy all day long for both us. Try to seek out these picks and they might just surprise you like they did Big Chief.
