Over the past couple of weeks, we have seen some pretty cool news released all the way from Buffalo Trace’s partnership with the Yellowstone show to Louisville’s Sazerac Company’s news to invest $600 million investment to build 20-barrel warehouses.

On November 23rd, 2022, Governor Andy Beshear announced the largest investment in the bourbon industry ever.  The $600 million project will include 20 barrel warehouses and expand Robinson Stave and Cumberland Cooperage in London, creating up to 50 full-time jobs and supporting the company’s continued growth.  This project is big for many reasons and also speaks to the rapid growth we continue to see in the bourbon industry.  For more information, you read the recent post from The Whiskey Wash and Kentucky.gov.

On December 8th, 2022, Governor Andy Beshear announced another large project, this time with the Willett Distillery (Kentucky Bourbon Distillers LTD).  This project is a $93 million project which includes building warehouses and additional production facilities, creating 35 full-time jobs in Washington County. For more information on this project you can go to CED.gov.

One of the hottest topics in the whiskey world was the appearance of Weller 12 on Yellowstone Season 5 episode 1.  On previous episodes Beth Dutton had been seen drinking Bulliet bourbon.  The appearance of Weller 12 caught the eye of all bourbon enthusiasts.  Buffalo Trace and Yellowstone have released a special collection of merchandise including a t-shirt that is sure to be a hit.

The past couple of weeks have provided a lot of excitement for the industry.  Below are a few more links to recent bourbon news.
