Do you ever find a bourbon or whiskey in the liqour store that you know nothing about?

Some brands have little to no social media or even websites so that’s where our bourbon podcast comes in.  A podcast listener, James Drier, sent us this bottle of Brindle Bourbon for us to sample. It is produced by Prospect Spirits out of El Paso, Texas, who also owns Free Range Vodka.

We hope you enjoy Jim and Mike’s review.  Cheers!

Tasting Notes: Brindle Bourbon

Vital Stats: This is Indiana Straight Bourbon Whiskey sourced from MGP. It is none age stated with a non-disclosed mashbill and is 88 proof. It’s $36.99 at stores like Total Wine and Specs Liquor.

Appearance: Stagg Jr like bottle, a beautiful label with the brindle moth on it that states carpenoctem, that means seize the night ,with golden amber bourbon.

Nose: Light and sweet with peaches, pears, and nectarines. Slight hints of oak, vanilla with spice.

Palate: Lots of caramel, kettle corn with rye spice that is drying. Peanuts and pecans show up with oak and vanilla.

Finish: Medium with a lingering Kentucky hug.

Overall: It’s always hard for us to pass on anything from MGP so it’s a buy for us at this price. Jim and I will seize the night with this bottle.
