Do you ever want to just relax and enjoy a glass of bourbon without thinking about its marketing?
Off Hours offers you just that. A bourbon whiskey made for the moments in between. No frills marketing, without made up gimmicks even though Jake Ireland, founder of Off Hours hometown is Lawrenceburg, Indiana. You got to love that he went back home for his whiskey.
More real-life connections. More easygoing hangs, and less expectations. More time outdoors, less time behind our screens. After a long week or just because. Find the time and the moments in between. This is a bourbon for life. For afternoon relaxations and late night conversations, we raise a glass to all of it and then some. The company couldn’t have said it better. Sometimes a glass and a bottle are all you need.
We hope you enjoy Jim and Mike’s review. Cheers!
By the way….. we should have known this was going to be a good bottle with Ashley Barnes blending it! She is magic when it comes to blending.
Tasting Notes: Off Hours bourbon Whiskey
Vital Stats: Sourced from MGP with a mashbill that is 75% corn, 21% rye, 4% barley. It 95 proof and has an MSRP of $37.95.
Appearance: Generic as it gets with its black and white label with a beautiful amber Americas native spirit inside.
Nose: Big League chewing gum , floral with honeysuckle and mixed fruits. Hints of spearmint and dates
Palate: It lacks any youthful notes. Sweet and aromatic with the spicy honey. The spearmint and dates show up again with hints of light oak.
Finish: Medium with a nice Kentucky hug.
Overall: A whiskey that we believe will stand up in a cocktail nicely. It’s a buy. Other MGP bourbons are going for twice the money so why not save a little and grab a bottle that you really don’t have to think about. Cheers
